Privacy Policy

Shiur Prati teaches kids, so protecting their privacy comes first. Here we explain what information is collected, why, who receives it, how long it's kept and what your rights are, under the Israeli Privacy Protection Law, 5741-1981, including Amendment 13. You're not legally required to provide information, but the Service can't work without some of it (for example, without a microphone there's no spoken lesson).
1. Who is responsible for your data
Shiur Prati (an exempt dealer) is the database controller. For any privacy question or request: privacy@shiurprati.com.
2. Children and parental consent
- A parent (18+) opens the account, gives consent for the children's use and manages it.
- The parent can see the children's profiles, progress and files, and can edit or delete them.
- At the start, the teacher tells the child it's an AI teacher, not a person.
- The teacher never asks the child for an address, phone number, school name, photos of themselves or contact details.
- There are no ads in the service, and children's data is never used for marketing.
3. What we collect and why
- Parent details: email (for signing in and receipts), phone number (verification, one account per number, free lesson minutes once per number), and basic payment details from PayPal (name, subscription ID, amounts and dates). Credit card details never reach us.
- Child's profile: name or nickname, gender (so the teacher addresses them correctly in the lesson language), grade, subjects and books, chosen character and teacher. Used to tailor lessons to your child.
- The lesson: your child's voice is streamed in real time for speech recognition, and what's said and written on the board is passed to the teacher. The recording itself (audio and video) is not saved. We save a learning summary ("memory": what was learned, what was hard, what went well), plus the lesson's text and board content, in the family account under "What I learned", so your child can return to a lesson and pick up where they left off. The parent can delete any lesson.
- Interests: up to 8 short words about what your child enjoys (like "soccer" or "space") and what helps them focus, so the teacher can use them in examples. We never save health, religion, family status or where you live. The parent sees them in the parent report and can delete any of them, and anything deleted won't be picked up again.
- Photos of worksheets and homework: saved in the family account ("My files") so your child can learn from them and come back to them. The parent can delete any photo.
- Voiceprint (voice recognition): if turned on, we save a numeric representation of your child's voice so the teacher listens only to them when it's noisy at home. This is biometric data, which is especially sensitive under Amendment 13. It's optional and only turned on with parental consent. The voice can't be reconstructed from it, it's never shared with any outside vendor, and it's deleted with the profile or on request.
- Camera: used only to photograph worksheets when your child taps the camera button. No face recognition, no emotion analysis and no video of your child is saved.
- Technical data: lesson times, duration, errors and quality metrics (like response time), so the service runs smoothly and we can fix problems. No third-party tracking or advertising tools.
- Connected devices: to keep the account secure, we save each connected device's type and browser, IP address and approximate location (city and country). Only the account owner and the service operators can see them.
Visit statistics: On our public pages only (the home page, sign-in, and policy pages), we use Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, and the Meta Pixel to count visits anonymously, measure our advertising, and improve the site. These tools don't run inside the app or during lessons, receive no information about children, and form fields are hidden from them. When a new account is created, our server tells Google and Meta only that an account was created, with no name, email, phone number, or children's details.
4. Who we share data with
Only with vendors the service can't work without, and only the data each one needs. We don't sell data or share it with advertisers. Some vendors process data outside Israel, in line with the Privacy Protection Regulations (Transfer of Data to Databases Abroad).
| Provider | Purpose | Location |
|---|---|---|
| Anthropic (Claude) | The teacher's brain: receives what the child says, writes and photographs during the lesson | USA |
| LiveKit | Streams the live lesson (voice and board) in real time | Israel / EU |
| Vercel, Neon | Website hosting and database | European Union (Frankfurt) |
| The teacher's voice (Google Cloud turns the teacher's text into speech and doesn't receive your child's voice), and Google sign-in (if you chose it) | USA | |
| 019 SMS | Sending the verification code to your phone | Israel |
| PayPal | Processing payments (your card details stay with PayPal, and we never see them) | International |
| Yesh Invoice | Issuing receipts and emailing them | Israel |
We ask our AI vendors not to train models on our data. Data will be shared with authorities only when required by law.
5. How long we keep data
- Audio and video recordings: not saved.
- Learning memory, lesson text and boards, profiles, worksheet photos and voiceprint: kept while the account is active (or until the parent deletes them), and deleted within 30 days of closing the account.
- Payment records and receipts: 7 years, as required by law (the Income Tax Ordinance).
- Backups: rotated regularly, so deletions reach them within about 35 days.
6. Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, access is limited to those who need it, and we follow the Privacy Protection Regulations (Data Security). If a serious security incident occurs, we'll report it to the Privacy Protection Authority and notify you as required by law.
7. Your rights
- View the data about you and your children (Section 13 of the law) and get a copy.
- Ask us to correct or delete data that's inaccurate, incomplete, unclear or out of date (Section 14).
- Withdraw consent (for example, for the voiceprint) and delete your whole account at any time.
- Contact us: privacy@shiurprati.com. We'll reply within 30 days at most. You can also contact the Privacy Protection Authority.
8. Emails
We'll send you service messages (sign-in codes, receipts, subscription changes). Marketing messages are sent only if you agreed, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
9. Policy changes
We'll let you know about any significant change by email or in the app before it takes effect. The latest version is always here.
